Role Overview

The Production Operator supports daily manufacturing by operating equipment, handling materials, and ensuring all processes comply with quality and safety standards. Key tasks include monitoring machinery, performing routine inspections, maintaining documentation, and following procedures to ensure smooth production operations. Collaborating with technicians and supervisors, the operator troubleshoots issues and helps maintain a clean and compliant working environment.

Primary Duties

• Carry out granulation, coating, and packaging in compliance with SOPs, Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Batch Packaging Records (BPR), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Set up, operate, clean, and perform maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in manufacturing and packaging zones.
• Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas.
• Report any procedural deviations promptly to supervisors or department heads.
• Calibrate balances and instruments as necessary.
• Complete preventive maintenance and equipment qualification activities as scheduled.
• Conduct line clearances and record environmental conditions including temperature and relative humidity as per SOPs.
• Verify and transfer materials correctly before batch processing.
• Perform start-up checks, challenge testing, and in-process quality inspections.
• Conduct Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections and reconcile materials after batch completion.
• Return surplus materials to warehouse and prepare batch documentation for review.
• Manage equipment spare parts inventory and adhere to manufacturing schedules.
• Assist in validation and qualification procedures.
• Handle change parts accurately and follow supervisor guidance.
• Stay updated with cGMP and regulatory requirements.
• Dispose of in-process rejects and expired materials with documented compliance.
• Participate in internal and external audits and inspections to maintain compliance.
• Contribute actively to initiatives aimed at improving quality, safety, operational efficiency, and production yield.
• Comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and promptly report health and safety risks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in pharmaceutical manufacturing or related fields are advantageous.
• At least five years of proven experience in tablet coating, granulation, and packaging operations.
• Strong communication abilities and effective problem-solving skills.
• Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
