Role Overview

We have an exciting opening for a Process Safety Engineer located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Superintendent of Loss Control, this role focuses on developing and enforcing safety processes and procedures aimed at maintaining an incident-free operational environment and fostering a strong safety culture throughout Tasnee.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess processes to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures to guarantee safe operations.
• Integrate safety precautions, mechanisms, and standards to ensure safe procedures across operations, engineering, and maintenance activities.
• Continuously update knowledge of international and industry safety best practices to provide relevant recommendations.
• Conduct thorough risk analyses of operational, maintenance, and new project activities before commencement, preparing risk assessments and suggesting control measures. Maintain and monitor the organization's risk profile through plant operation stages.
• Evaluate existing and upcoming engineering projects from design and construction perspectives to incorporate safety standards that ensure a secure environment during construction and operation.
• Offer guidelines on safety before and during modifications or alterations of engineering systems to prevent incidents.
• Identify new safety risks arising from alterations and suggest control strategies.
• Regularly inspect sites and survey areas prone to accidents to verify compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Investigate accidents: independently manage investigations for minor incidents and collaborate on major incident inquiries, conducting root cause analyses and preparing reports for management review.
• Support development of training and awareness initiatives focused on process safety for employees.
• Recommend and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure quality, cost-effective services are delivered to internal clients.
• Provide mentorship and share expertise with team members to foster collaboration within the department and beyond.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental protocols to uphold compliance and product/service excellence.
• Perform any additional duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Safety Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a reputed Oil & Gas organization with demonstrated effectiveness, performance, and achievements.
• Proficiency in engineering and maintenance principles.
• Understanding of business processes and skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety systems.
• Strong planning and organizational capabilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
