About the Role
Join the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) in Queensland as a Principal Advisor, Workforce Strategy. This role is pivotal in crafting and implementing innovative workforce solutions that tackle emerging challenges and align with the department's strategic vision. Your expertise will help shape future-focused workforce initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven, evidence-based consultations on workforce-related risks and opportunities to guide strategic workforce planning.
- Influence leadership and stakeholders to prioritize and adopt effective workforce initiatives that mature planning processes.
- Oversee the execution of multiple workforce projects, ensuring timely completion within allocated budgets and scope.
- Develop and sustain robust collaborations across departments to align workforce strategies with overarching goals.
- Work closely with the Workforce Insights team and other collaborators to incorporate workforce analytics into operational and strategic plans.
- Continuously assess and refine workforce planning procedures to meet changing business demands and sector trends.
- Design, deploy, and monitor workforce programs supporting the department's long-term objectives.
- Lead organizational change efforts to integrate new workforce practices in line with strategic aims.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members, promoting a culture based on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefing documents, and presentations that effectively communicate workforce strategies and support decision-making.
Candidate Profile
- A strategic and proactive thinker with strong organisation, analytical, and communication skills and a track record of influencing key decisions and implementing impactful workforce plans.
- Experienced in managing complex projects with the ability to balance competing priorities and embed workforce planning best practices.
- Capable of delivering clear, evidence-based advice grounded in workforce data and current insights, with strong writing skills for various audiences.
- Adaptive and committed to continuous improvement within a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills facilitating team collaboration and stakeholder engagement to foster strong relationships and achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to nurture a high-performing team, encouraging ownership and autonomous problem-solving.
- Ability to consult and build strategic partnerships with senior leaders across the department and the public sector.
