Role Overview

This position involves executing all dishwashing duties and maintaining overall cleanliness in the kitchen of a retail grocery environment. It is essential to consistently ensure a positive representation of the company through courteous and efficient service toward both customers and fellow Team Members. The role requires adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures, teamwork, and compliance with core company values, including health and safety and food safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other small kitchen equipment.
• Keep floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves within the kitchen clean and well-maintained.
• Assist in receiving kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage, organization, and product rotation.
• Arrive on time, properly dressed and groomed, and prepared to undertake all scheduled shifts and participate in necessary training sessions.
• Deliver excellent customer service promptly, including responding to customer needs, using suggestive selling methods, and handling phone and paging duties courteously.
• Follow effective procedures to prepare, store, rotate, stock, and display products to maximize sales potential.
• Comply with all established protocols including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe working and shopping environment, ensuring equipment cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform assigned opening, mid, and closing duties carefully and ensure signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report any safety hazards or violations immediately to leadership.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience

No previous retail work experience is required for candidates.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling tasks.
• Comfortable performing bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching movements frequently.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures including freezing to high heat.
• Capacity to work in both wet and dry conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience or ability to safely use various tools and machines such as knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, and ladders.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this role ranges from $18 to $25.40, depending on experience. Eligible Team Members have access to comprehensive benefits, including store discounts, paid time off, financial wellness programs, and health support services. Eligibility for benefits is determined according to specific plan terms and may vary by location, employment type, and tenure. New employees who complete 90 days successfully may qualify for a base wage increase.
