Job Summary

This full-time position is based on-site in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The Port Safety Officer will be accountable for enforcing health and safety measures, performing regular inspections, ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations, and maintaining security at the port. The role involves incident investigation, safety training facilitation, and recommending improvements to enhance operational safety and security standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven offshore vessel experience with appropriate international marine certifications.
• HSE certification equivalent to NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Certificate of Competency along with verification documentation.
• Endorsement on the Certificate of Competency.
• GMDSS Certificate if holding a Deck Officer License.
• Complete STCW Certifications, including Medical Care.
• Training in Bridge and Engine Room Resource Management.
• Valid passport for at least six months from the date of employment.
• Seaman Book with all sea time entries, valid for a minimum of six months.
• Successful completion of the Marlins Test with at least 80% marks and online verification.
• Medical fitness certificate valid for no less than three months.
• H2S Familiarization Course certificate.
• Previous approval as a Port Safety Officer or officer by Saudi Aramco is preferred.
• BOSIET certification.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, and occupational hygiene practices.
• Experience in conducting accident investigations and enforcing corrective actions.
• Familiarity with security processes and protocols at port facilities.
• Ability to create and deliver comprehensive safety training programs.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication capabilities.
• Certifications in health and safety fields, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, are advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related disciplines is desirable.
