About the Role

The Performance Head Coach plays a critical role in delivering outstanding service to members enrolled in Performance Programming by leading and developing the Coaching team. This position ensures the overall success of Performance Programming while fostering a strong community atmosphere. The Head Coach also delivers quality coaching and engagement to fellow coaches.

Key Responsibilities

Lead hiring, training, performance management, and development of Performance Coaches
Ensure the Performance Program achieves success and meets set goals
Manage application of administrative tasks, policies, procedures, and systems under the guidance of the Vice President of Group Experience; report directly to the General Manager
Collaborate on planning and executing Performance classes, including special events, new releases, member retention, and attraction strategies
Implement all Performance program directives from the Vice President of Group Experience
Lead 2 to 4 Performance Starter classes weekly
Build and sustain the Performance Member base through member engagement including walk-arounds, trials, calls, community outreach, booths, and testimonials
Maintain a strong presence within the club, engage with members and staff, especially at the Front Desk before classes, to strengthen the Performance community
Promote Performance programming through social media, newsletters, and special events as directed
Participate in the Performance Head Coach network and contribute occasionally to programming development and educational content
Address member complaints and concerns professionally
Coordinate with the Sales Team to promote weekly special events
Attend Sales Launch, Club Kickoff, Divisional Manager, and General Manager meetings as required
Plan and deliver ongoing training and development sessions for coaches

Qualifications and Skills

Proven ability to motivate, engage, and empower coaching teams
Strong leadership with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective time management, planning, and organizational abilities
In-depth knowledge of the health and fitness industry
A passion for leadership and supporting healthier lifestyles
Exceptional influencing, coaching, and mentoring skills
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
Adaptability, proactiveness, and a positive, energetic attitude
Capability to build professional relationships at all organizational levels

Experience in small group or team training settings
Customer service experience and comfort working with sales targets
Certification completion required within three months
Effective in inspiring and energizing participants

Compensation

The starting hourly wage is $22.00. Annual total earnings range between $23,700 and $28,200 based on scheduled hours, performance, and tenure.
