The Opportunity

We seek a People Operations Coordinator passionate about creating outstanding employee experiences. This role involves managing onboarding, employee systems, benefits administration, recruitment assistance, and regulatory compliance—the essential functions that make Canopy a preferred workplace. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete new hire process, including sending out offers, completing background checks and paperwork, coordinating first-day orientation, and ensuring I-9 and E-Verify compliance.
  • Administer employee offboarding with attention and care, managing clean exit procedures, updating systems, and handling COBRA requirements.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy and timeliness of People Systems and data management.
  • Seek and propose automation and AI-driven enhancements to accelerate People Operations processes, contributing original ideas to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in regular audits and reporting tasks throughout the year.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR topics.
  • Support equity and payroll processes when required.
  • Aid the recruitment team with scheduling, conducting reference checks, and coordinating onsite interviews.
  • Handle employment verifications and manage unemployment claims.
  • Oversee administration of training via the Learning Management System.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' experience in People Operations, particularly with onboarding and HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Strong technical proficiency with human resource platforms; adaptability and quick learning of tools is essential.
  • Preferably holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Exemplifies a warm, employee-centered approach, genuinely committed to supporting a positive workplace.
