Overview
Advance your career in parts management by joining our team as a Senior Parts Advisor / Parts Interpreter at our Darwin location. This role involves mentoring parts advisors, assisting in strategic sales growth, and ensuring outstanding customer service through precise parts support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance and coaching to parts advisors to uphold exceptional customer service standards.
- Serve as the second-in-command to the Parts Manager and cover duties during their absence.
- Handle customer inquiries both in person and over the phone, ensuring accurate identification of parts.
- Drive sales growth by promoting parts and related products such as coolant and oil.
- Regularly monitor and review customer back orders to capitalize on sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while advocating for the use of genuine parts.
- Stay informed about product updates to better support customers and the team.
- Assist with inventory management including stock oversight, forecasting, and reviewing orders.
- Recommend appropriate stock levels and inter-branch transfers to maintain optimal inventory flow.
- Participate in stocktakes and manage parts call-outs as needed.
- Utilize up-selling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales and introduce new products.
- Conduct outbound communications to promote products, enhance processes, and inform about promotions.
Candidate Profile
- Completed High School Certificate; progress toward a Parts Interpreting Certificate is preferred.
- At least two years’ experience in parts interpreting or a related field.
- Strong familiarity with MTU, Detroit Diesel, Allison, and associated product lines.
- Essential understanding of internal combustion engines; automatic transmission knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical literature, catalogues, and bulletins effectively.
- Solid grasp of warehousing principles related to parts management.
- Proficient with computer applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
