Officer, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

About the Role

The Officer, HSE position at alfanar focuses on ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols as per company standards. The role involves assisting in preparing reports related to incidents, accidents, near misses, and lost man-hours while actively contributing to the promotion of a safe and healthy workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Report any employee health issues or illnesses promptly and ensure their welfare is properly supported.
• Ensure correct and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to job requirements.
• Identify potential workplace risks and hazards and help with implementing fundamental control measures to mitigate them.
• Support updates and maintenance of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) documentation as required.
• Assist in monitoring noise levels within factory settings and recommend corrective actions or appropriate PPE where necessary.
• Document incidents, near misses, and accidents, participating in basic investigations and proposing preventive measures.
• Collect and summarize employee feedback and suggestions related to safety and health improvements.
• Take part in conducting toolbox meetings and safety drills, including evacuation and fire drills.
• Help prepare and distribute information related to HSE awareness and training topics.

Operational Accountabilities

• Collaborate with colleagues to effectively accomplish assigned tasks.
• Maintain open communication with team members and management, welcoming feedback and direction.
• Execute planned activities to meet operational and development goals efficiently within allocated time and cost constraints.
• Address and resolve related operational issues promptly, escalating complex problems when necessary.
• Adhere to quality standards relevant to products, processes, and associated activities.
• Follow all business processes, policies, procedures, and work instructions thoroughly.
• Strictly comply with all safety procedures and regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma degree in Safety Engineering or a relevant field.
• Experience ranging from fresh graduates up to 4 years is acceptable (0-2 years preferable).

Technical Expertise

• Knowledge and awareness of safety compliance.
• Experience conducting safety reviews and inspections.
