Role Overview
This full-time position based in Bankura entails engaging with local communities and aiding the rollout of SwitchON Foundation's initiatives. Responsibilities involve active outreach across villages, organizing informative sessions and workshops related to clean energy, sustainable farming, and wellbeing efforts, and cultivating robust connections with community members, local authorities, and collaborating bodies. This role includes gathering field data, systematically documenting operations, and providing frequent progress reports to project leaders to ensure project goals are met efficiently. Additional duties include event coordination, participant mobilization, relaying field insights, and collaborating with colleagues to tailor approaches aligned with community needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in engaging communities, fostering trust with local stakeholders, and leading group discussions or training sessions.
- Effective communication skills in local dialects with basic English proficiency, capable of conveying ideas clearly and respectfully.
- Fundamental knowledge or keen interest in environmental sustainability, renewable energy, agriculture, or rural development sectors.
- Willingness and physical ability to conduct field visits frequently within Bankura and adapt to diverse rural environments.
- Competent in recording data, preparing simple reports, and maintaining regular updates for the project team.
- At minimum, completed secondary education; higher qualifications such as diplomas or degrees in social work, rural development, or related areas are advantageous.
- Experience in community outreach, nonprofit work, or grassroots mobilization is preferred but not essential.
- Strong dedication to inclusiveness, non-discriminatory practices, and respectful engagement across varied backgrounds, genders, and ages.
