Role Overview
The Maintenance & Reliability Planner is responsible for organizing and supporting the daily maintenance workflow to ensure optimal equipment performance and operational reliability. This position involves close collaboration with maintenance teams, operations, engineering, and external vendors to guarantee safe, efficient, and reliable system functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and oversee preventative maintenance schedules and planned tasks using the CMMS system.
- Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance activities with technicians and related teams.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and resource availability to support maintenance operations, both planned and urgent.
- Analyze equipment performance data to uncover recurring problems and reliability trends.
- Propose and apply strategies to maximize equipment uptime and improve operational efficiency.
- Promote initiatives aimed at extending equipment lifespan while minimizing maintenance costs.
- Ensure all maintenance operations comply with safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards.
- Keep accurate inventory records for spare parts and maintenance materials.
- Maintain detailed maintenance documentation and generate reports on equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure tools, parts, consumables, and services required for maintenance.
- Assist with troubleshooting to resolve maintenance-related issues.
- Perform other relevant duties to support business, quality, safety, or regulatory obligations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least three years of advancing experience in maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning, preventative maintenance practices, and equipment reliability.
- Experience working with CMMS platforms is preferred.
- Red Seal certification in a related trade and/or engineering expertise is considered a significant advantage.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Authorization to legally work in Canada is mandatory.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and move around for extended durations.
- Capability to stoop, reach, kneel, and crouch.
- Capacity to lift weights upwards of 50 pounds when required.
