About the Role
Jones Engineering is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join a leading biotechnology manufacturing facility in the Limerick region. This full-time position involves overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure they are executed safely, documented properly, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance tasks for electrical, mechanical, and calibration/instrumentation systems.
- Manage and prepare work orders using the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Arrange necessary labor, materials, spare parts, and equipment for maintenance jobs.
- Initiate and handle permits to work and isolation procedures responsibly.
- Assist in maintenance-related deviations, investigations, and subsequent corrective actions.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams.
- Track and monitor maintenance schedules, backlogs, and overdue maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation adheres to GMP standards and data integrity principles.
- Support planned shutdowns, equipment outages, and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
- Technical qualification or relevant practical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning or coordination roles.
- Familiarity with CMMS tools and technology.
- Strong organizational skills and clear communication abilities.
- Capability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.
- Understanding of GMP regulations, Permit-to-Work systems, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO/COHE), and deviation management processes is a plus.
