About Tayto Snacks
Tayto Snacks produces some of Ireland’s best-known crisp and snack labels, such as Tayto, Hunky Dorys, King, O'Donnell's, Hula Hoops, KP Nuts, Skips, Rancheros and Meanies. The company operates from Ashbourne in County Meath, about 40 minutes from Dublin city centre, where 350 team members work across a modern production site and head office. Each year, the site processes 30,000 tonnes of Irish potatoes, which accounts for around 10% of the country’s total potato crop, to create the nation’s favourite crisps. Role Overview
This is a full-time, permanent Machine Operative position on the evening shift, based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The role sits within Operations and reports to the Line Lead.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Maintaining health and safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards in your work area in line with company expectations.
- Helping improve overall production-shift performance by working consistently to the same standard.
- Ensuring first-time quality and all relevant quality-control checks for your area of production.
- Accurately recording and entering area-related data through paperwork and FMES systems.
- Improving packing-line efficiency by keeping close communication with the Line Lead, Maintenance Lead, Process Lead and Team Captains.
- Tracking and supporting hourly efficiency targets across your area.
- Leaving machinery and the surrounding area in proper working condition and aligned with company best practice at the end of the shift.
Skills and Attributes
- A collaborative, proactive approach to teamwork.
- Working knowledge of packing machinery.
- Basic computer confidence, including tools such as Excel, is an advantage.
- Understanding of product specifications and CCPs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to listen and respond well.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and improve working methods.
Requirements
- At least 6 months’ experience operating manufacturing machinery.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with managers and stakeholders at different levels, both internally and externally.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation and initiative.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Strong organisation skills.
- Willingness to take part in personal development training.
