Role Overview

The Logistics Manager at Astral Health & Beauty spearheads comprehensive operational strategies encompassing order management, inventory, logistics, distribution, quality assurance, and third-party logistics partner coordination. This role is pivotal in enhancing operational excellence, streamlining scalable processes, optimizing costs, and facilitating growth across various sales channels including direct-to-consumer, retail, e-commerce, international, and B2B.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and internal departments to implement robust inventory management tactics designed to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, prevent shortages, and uphold product freshness and quality.
• Manage logistics functions, including third-party warehousing, transportation, distribution, and fulfillment, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery to customers and retail partners.
• Evaluate and integrate new operational technologies such as ERP systems, EDI processes, and supply chain software to boost efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Develop and enforce quality control and assurance protocols across the supply chain to maintain product integrity and operational standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Oversee the sales order processing system to guarantee precise and prompt fulfillment for diverse order types including DTC, B2B, international, retail, and drop shipments; manage EDI transactions and partner onboarding.
• Analyze retailer and e-tailer chargebacks with the logistics provider and operations team to identify issues and implement corrective measures to reduce financial deductions.
• Identify and lead initiatives for process standardization, automation, and improvement to enhance operational efficiency and cost control.
• Manage budgets, monitor performance metrics, and steer cost-reduction strategies without compromising service quality.
• Lead and mentor a capable operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and ongoing improvement. This role has two direct reports: a Logistics Analyst and an Operations Specialist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields is mandatory.
• Between 5 and 8 years of advancing experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, order management, or distribution, with preference for candidates from health and beauty, consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership in optimizing supply chain and operations, improving service levels, cost control, and scaling processes to back business expansion.
• Strong skills in negotiation, vendor and third-party logistics management, and relationship building.
• Proficiency in demand planning, inventory control, logistics, and distribution strategies.
• Experience with ERP platforms, EDI systems, warehouse management, reporting tools, and related supply chain software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, project management, and strategic decision-making capabilities.
