About the Role
Located in Sindlesham, we are seeking a dependable Kitchen Porter to join our welcoming team at a prominent educational institution in Wokingham, Berkshire. This full-time, permanent position involves supporting meal services for approximately 1000 students and staff, covering breakfast, lunch, and supper. The role operates mainly during school term time for the main school and year-round for the nursery, with work patterns spread across seven days a week. Free onsite parking is available.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional hygiene and safety standards throughout the kitchen environment.
- Carry out pot washing and cleaning of kitchen equipment including heavy catering machinery, air filters, and extraction systems, following provided guidelines.
- Operate industrial dishwashing equipment efficiently.
- Assist chefs with food preparation as needed.
- Contribute to upholding high cleanliness standards at all times.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Previous kitchen porter experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Positive and proactive attitude with strong organizational capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrating good verbal and written English skills.
- Experience in customer service or food preparation settings is preferred.
- A strong team player committed to excellent service.
