Role Overview

The position of Junior Electrical Engineer (Commissioning) involves assisting the Electrical Commissioning Team on data centre projects throughout Europe. The role blends practical field commissioning tasks with engineering support at the office, presenting a strong learning opportunity to gain expertise in electrical systems, infrastructure, controls, and commissioning methodologies.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and technicians, receiving structured coaching and hands-on experience to develop skills from Installation Verification (Level 2) through to Integrated System Testing (Level 5), nurturing your growth from graduate engineer to an autonomous commissioning expert. Extensive travel to various European project sites is a key aspect of this job.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in performing electrical commissioning duties under senior supervision on data centre projects.
• Take part in electrical design evaluations and help note design issues.
• Examine project documentation including specifications, operational philosophies, system operation descriptions, and equipment data.
• Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layouts accurately.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of commissioning test procedures.
• Observe and assist commissioning stages ranging from Level 2 (Installation Verification) to Level 5 (Integrated System Testing) involving checks like IVC, PFC, FPT, and IST.
• Conduct assigned commissioning tasks once authorised post-training by the Electrical Lead.
• Maintain precise records of test outcomes, field notes, and commissioning documents.
• Help compile detailed commissioning reports, progress trackers, dashboards, and completion documentation.
• Participate in project meetings, reporting the status of your commissioning activities.
• Support management and audit of commissioning files and documentation systems.
• Undertake any other duties as delegated to support team objectives.

Educational Qualifications and Licenses

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Entry-level candidates and recent graduates with internship or practical experience are encouraged.
• Possession of a full driving license is preferable.
• Verification of educational credentials, licenses, and certifications where applicable.
