Junior Deli Assistant

About the Role

We are recruiting a full-time Junior Deli Assistant to join our team at O'Hehirs Café located in Ballybofey, County Donegal, Ireland. O'Hehirs is a respected family-operated business specializing in food and bakery items, with multiple outlets across Sligo, Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Longford, and Westmeath. We continually expand our offerings to serve our customers better.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various teas, coffees, and other beverages to customers.
• Serve signature sandwiches to a high standard while enthusiastically promoting daily specials and offers.
• Prepare hot food items focusing on quality, attractive presentation, and excellent customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming workspace throughout the shift.
• Operate the cash register and carry out end-of-day cash reconciliation.
• Collaborate with bakery and cleaning teams during busy times to support their activities.
• Assist in welcoming and training new staff members by sharing your knowledge and helping them settle in.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 2 to 3 years of prior experience in a similar deli assistant role.
• Confidence and accuracy in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
• Training or experience as a barista, with skills in preparing quality coffee and beverages.
• Must possess a valid work permit to be eligible for employment.

Working Hours and Conditions

The position requires a minimum of 35 hours weekly, with the café operating 6 days a week. The role includes working across 5 days, requiring availability for weekday and weekend shifts. There are no evening shifts.
