Mount Isa Mines, one of the world’s leading mining complexes, is seeking a part-time Inventory Controller to join its Supply Chain team in Mount Isa, Queensland. This position offers Monday to Friday work with 8-hour days and is ideal for local candidates, though relocation support is available for those moving to the region.

Role Responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels, identify shortages and supply risks to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Analyze demand, usage patterns, lead times, and stock quantities to optimize inventory and support replenishment planning
- Collaborate with Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Operations teams to address supply challenges and urgent needs
- Maintain accurate material master data and investigate any inventory inconsistencies or unusual activities
- Manage excess, surplus, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory to control investment in stock
- Evaluate inventory performance and initiate process improvements, enhance reporting, and improve controls
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control, materials management, supply planning, procurement, or warehouse operations, preferably in mining or heavy industry
- Knowledge of inventory optimization principles including replenishment planning, stock movements, and supply risk management
- Strong analytical skills to interpret demand, usage, and lead-time data effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders effectively
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to data accuracy, process follow-through, and continuous improvements
