Role Overview

The Baker's Helper plays a vital part in fulfilling all responsibilities professionally, responsibly, accurately, and promptly. This position upholds exceptional customer service standards and ensures compliance with all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, corporate policies, health and safety regulations, and other relevant initiatives. Teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential to contributing positively to the success of the Thrifty Foods team. The Helper supports customer engagement by meeting their needs and fostering loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Strictly follow all food safety protocols, SOPs, health and safety and corporate policies.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of Thrifty Foods' policies and departmental procedures.
• Perform tasks related to floor maintenance consistently.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentability of work areas at all times.
• Operate equipment with safety consciousness and proper techniques.
• Grow knowledge of bakery products including seasonal variations and updates.
• Engage customers positively with eye contact and friendly greetings.
• Be dependable, conscientious, and punctual consistently.
• Progress in learning oven use and product preparation skills.
• Support JP Baker or Supervisor by preparing tools, materials, and handling stock retrieval.
• Receive and rotate stock and ingredients properly.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment per company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong interpersonal and people skills.
• Good grasp of business and industry knowledge.
• Availability to start work at 6 AM.
