Role Overview

Reporting directly to the General Manager and Executive President, the Head of Finance will be a vital member of the senior leadership team. This role oversees the entire finance function and acts as a trusted commercial advisor, shaping financial performance and growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly management, board, and statutory financial reporting processes.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.
  • Conduct commercial analyses focusing on product profitability, pricing strategies, margin performance, and customer channels.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements.
  • Optimize business performance by overseeing inventory, debtor, and creditor management.
  • Handle banking relationships, treasury operations, and interactions with external financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and statutory obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to systems, controls, and reporting procedures.
  • Provide commercial support in supplier negotiations, capital investment decisions, and growth projects.
  • Lead and nurture a finance team located in Australia and Asia.
  • Present comprehensive financial results and insights to executives, shareholders, and external parties.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Background in wholesale, consumer products, retail, FMCG, or distribution sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of inventory accounting, landed costs, and margin analysis.
  • Proven capability in managing working capital, cash flow, and banking facilities.
  • Experienced in leading and developing finance teams.
  • Strong commercial insight with the ability to influence strategic business decisions.
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • A practical approach complemented by strategic leadership abilities.
