Role Overview
The Foundation regards effective communication as a cornerstone of its goal to ensure artificial general intelligence benefits everyone. The Head of Communications will lead the entire communications function, shaping the organization’s strategy and public image.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all internal and external communications, including media engagement, promoting thought leadership, enhancing executive presence, managing crises, and maintaining leadership and staff communications.
- Contribute to defining the Foundation’s long-term strategic direction and clearly articulate its vision and mission.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to optimize their external positioning, serve as mentors to executives engaging publicly.
- Develop and maintain crisis communication protocols and infrastructure enabling swift, strategic responses to urgent media requests.
- Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson for major initiatives, representing the Foundation at media appearances and corporate functions.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional skill in crafting and implementing communication tactics that convey the value and benefits of artificial general intelligence to broad audiences.
- At least 15 years of proven success in communications leadership within top-tier organizations, preferably including rapidly evolving technology companies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the media landscape and substantial experience collaborating with national and international top-tier media outlets, along with an established and growing network of media contacts.
- Proficiency with contemporary communications technologies, analytics, and digital platforms including social media channels.
- Experience working globally with cultural sensitivity and an international outlook.
