Role overview

Ace Handyman Services is looking for an experienced multi-trade handyman to support repair, maintenance, and remodeling work for homes and businesses in WNC. The company has served the region since 2019 and is known for delivering quality workmanship on projects of all sizes, both indoors and outdoors.

This position is a W2 role that offers the independence of working like your own operator while the company handles scheduling and job assignment. You will work from your home base, using your own truck or van to travel to customer sites in Highlands, NC and surrounding areas. The role can be structured as full-time or part-time.

Compensation and work setup

Pay is expected to fall in the range of $25 to $30 per hour. The position also includes benefits and performance-based bonuses.

Key responsibilities

The role involves carrying out a wide variety of home repair and improvement tasks across several trades. You should be comfortable handling work that spans carpentry, tiling, painting, drywall, and light plumbing and electrical tasks, while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Job requirements

Applicants should bring strong trade knowledge, a professional attitude, and the ability to communicate well with customers, coworkers, management, and office staff. Experience in estimating and prior handyman repair work is strongly preferred.

You must also be equipped to work independently, troubleshoot issues effectively, complete documentation accurately, and maintain a polished professional presence.

Additional requirements

• Proven background as a handyman or craftsman is preferred
• Ability to handle minor electrical and plumbing work
• Own a full standard tool set for the required trades
• Have access to a truck or van
• Hold a current, valid driver’s license
• Live within 30 miles of Highlands, NC
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good documentation and invoicing ability
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
