Job Purpose
We are looking for a Group Business Accountant to join our Group Finance team based in Gurugram. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting accounting operations across various business entities in the UK, Europe, Asia, and India. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in statutory and management reporting, intercompany processes, and international financial regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile statutory financial statements for various entities throughout the group, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Assist in preparing both interim and annual shareholder reports.
- Manage the complete intercompany process, ensuring accurate invoicing, remittance, and reconciliations.
- Liaise closely with auditors, supplying timely support and documentation and expediting the resolution of audit queries.
- Monitor and enforce legal and regulatory compliance for international entities, including e-filings via government portals.
- Prepare internal management accounts for major group functions, including comprehensive variance analyses against budgets, forecasts, and previous years with detailed commentaries.
- Continually assess and enhance accounting and reporting procedures for increased efficiency and simplification.
- Maintain and update monthly exchange rates in financial reporting and perform calculations for group loan interest and foreign exchange transactions.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Certified chartered accountant with 2-3 years of post-qualification professional experience.
- Demonstrated strong academic background.
- Practical knowledge of management accounting including accruals, prepayments, variance analysis, and balance sheet/cash flow statement preparation.
- Hands-on experience leading or supporting audits and statutory reporting processes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting standards, as well as group result consolidation methods.
- Previous experience in an ERP environment (experience with PeopleSoft is an advantage).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
