Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort, located in Salamander Bay, NSW, Australia, seeks an experienced General Manager to oversee its operations and lead its team towards excellence.
Job Overview
The General Manager will be accountable for the overall performance of the hotel, focusing on profitability, guest satisfaction, team leadership, and stakeholder relations. This role demands hands-on leadership across all business facets, working closely with owners and corporate stakeholders to enhance the asset's value while maintaining exceptional guest services and a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily operations ensuring superior standards in presentation, service, and financial health.
- Formulate and execute strategic revenue plans to optimize business performance.
- Lead and mentor departmental heads including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams.
- Establish and nurture key stakeholder relationships including Body Corporate, Strata Managers, and local partners.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, licensing, and caretaking requirements.
- Identify improvement opportunities across operations and develop strategic procedures to address them.
- Drive a high-performance, motivated team culture through effective leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven leadership experience as a General Manager or equivalent senior position in hotels or serviced apartments.
- Experience working within a Body Corporate setting, including understanding owner relations, committee engagement, and governance.
- Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Business Management.
- Strong knowledge of the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Excellent financial and commercial skills with demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization.
- Passion for people-focused leadership, team development, and achieving operational excellence.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
