Future Pathways Advisor

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Future Pathways Advisor to join our academic department on a permanent basis, reporting to the Assistant Head of High School. This role focuses on delivering and supporting a comprehensive Futures program for grades 6 through 12, aligned with the International Schools Partnership (ISP) Future Pathways standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and support the whole-school Futures program ensuring a coherent student experience across grades 6 to 12.
• Guide students to understand and communicate their academic, vocational, and entrepreneurial future options.
• Manage data collection and outcomes reporting for the Futures program to assist in monitoring and evaluation.
• Collaborate with ISP's central Future Pathways team as necessary.
• Provide guidance on international university admissions and pathways, including UK, US, European, and Asian systems.
• Organize and track university applications and student destinations through the school's designated platform.
• Conduct individual and group advisory sessions for students and families on subject selection, applications, personal statements, CV enhancement, scholarships, and financial aid.
• Deliver lessons, workshops, and assemblies related to Futures topics, integrating practical real-world experiences into the curriculum.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Futures curriculum alongside academic leadership.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with universities, employers, industry professionals, and ISP networks.
• Coordinate careers fairs, guest speakers, and events to enhance student exposure to professional environments.
• Develop internship, work experience, and enrichment offerings for students.
• Represent the school at ISP Future Pathways regional festivals, supporting event organization and promotion.
• Engage with the ISP alumni network to support strategic alumni relations activities.
• Lead the implementation and daily management of the school's careers and destinations platform, ensuring student engagement and data tracking.
• Collaborate with subject leaders and teachers to integrate Futures learning within academic subjects.
• Deliver assemblies to inform students about career opportunities and post-secondary pathways.
• Provide personalized student guidance at key transition points, identifying those at risk of uncertain futures and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Undertake additional duties, extracurricular activities, and support tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in careers guidance, futures advising, or a related educational role.
• Postgraduate qualifications in careers guidance or school counseling are preferred.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse student body.
• Proficient communication abilities including public speaking, active listening, and writing professionally.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global university admissions processes and labor market trends.
• Experience with career guidance platforms and monitoring tools.
• Ability to foster and sustain partnerships with external organizations.
• Strong organizational skills with effective data management and analysis capabilities.
• Familiarity with international qualification systems, including High School Diploma, GPA, SAT, IELTS, and IB requirements.
• Competent in educational software, career planning tools, and Microsoft 365 suite.
