Floor Technician

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a committed and meticulous Floor Technician based in the areas of Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Palm Bay, FL along with their surrounding regions. The selected candidate will manage the upkeep and appearance of floors within various retail establishments. This position demands expertise in floor maintenance practices such as buffing, stripping, waxing, as well as general janitorial duties including window cleaning. A strong dedication to delivering superior custodial services is essential to ensure a clean and safe environment for everyone in the facility.

Compensation and Schedule

The hourly wage for this position is $18, contingent on experience, with an expected work commitment of approximately 35 or more hours weekly. Workdays are Monday through Friday, around 8 hours per day, though shifts can vary to meet client demands, and occasional weekend shifts may be required. The role is full-time with on-site presence.

Location and Work Environment

Work will be conducted in-person at sites within Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Palm Bay, FL. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine monthly floor cleaning and maintenance including sweeping and mopping.
• Carry out specialized floor care such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Conduct janitorial tasks with proper equipment, ensuring well-kept windows and restrooms.
• Regularly inspect floors for damage or signs of wear, promptly reporting findings to management.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Work cooperatively with environmental services staff to maintain cleanliness standards throughout facilities.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and tools, alerting management when restocking is needed.

Experience and Skill Requirements

• Minimum of two years' experience in commercial floor cleaning is mandatory.
• Expertise in floor care methods including buffing and janitorial skills.
• Knowledge of environmental cleaning best practices is advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with capability to work independently or within a team.
• Excellent organizational abilities with effective prioritization of tasks.

Additional Duties

Occasionally, other cleaning duties such as dusting windowsills, vents, wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning will be required.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent physical activity including lifting 20 pounds or more daily, bending, stretching, standing for long durations, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, twisting, sitting, walking, and running. Candidates must be comfortable standing throughout their shift.
