Finance Assistant

About the Role

Soudal is seeking a Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant to become a valued member of their expanding finance team based in Dublin. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role involves supporting the daily financial operations and collaborating with internal departments such as Sales & Marketing and Operations. The Finance Assistant will also serve as a key liaison for customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly management reports to the Group.
• Conduct Balance Sheet reconciliations, including analysis and resolving discrepancies.
• Record and post banking transactions and other journal entries with accuracy.
• Support the Finance Manager during the annual audit process.
• Approve and process expenses and mileage claims efficiently.
• Handle supplier invoice processing and organize payment runs.
• Manage customer credit control and oversee the credit insurance procedures.
• Submit VAT and EC sales listings to the Revenue Online Service (ROS).
• Perform general business administration, such as maintaining and assisting with renewals of contracts for the company fleet, utilities, and other indirect expenses.
• Contribute to miscellaneous finance projects and reporting as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Possess an AAT qualification or equivalent; progression towards accounting qualifications such as CIMA is preferred.
• Experience in a similar finance role is essential.
• Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP systems is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including functions like XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables.
• Strong communication abilities, team-oriented mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
