About The Savannah Fruits Company
The Savannah Fruits Company, located in Ghana, is committed to producing and exporting high-grade, traditionally handcrafted shea butter along with other African natural products such as Virgin Coconut Oil, Black Soap, and Baobab oil. Partnering with over 15,000 women across 40 communities, the company empowers women through sustainable and ethical trade while maintaining a fully traceable supply chain from collection to delivery. With strong collaboration with development partners including SNV and Root Capital, the company emphasizes social responsibility and adding value at the source.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Nut Field Officer based in Kpalbe, Savannah Region, to join us full time on-site. This role involves engaging directly with local cooperatives to oversee sustainable shea nut sourcing and ensure adherence to quality standards. The officer will coordinate community activities, monitor field operations, provide producer training, support data collection, and maintain records. This position requires collaboration with management to align programs with the company's mission of empowering local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise and coordinate with community partners and cooperatives.
- Monitor field activities to ensure sustainable sourcing of shea nuts.
- Provide training and support to producers on quality and sustainable practices.
- Collect and maintain accurate data and records from field operations.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement impactful community programs.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience in community engagement, project coordination, and stakeholder relations.
- Excellent organizational skills, especially in data collection and reporting.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse communities.
- Knowledge of sustainable sourcing, agricultural methods, or rural development is advantageous.
- Capable of independent work and multitasking.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ethical trade and social responsibility concepts.
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Agricultural Sciences, Development Studies, Community Development or related disciplines preferred.
- Willingness to work in rural environments and to travel locally as necessary.
