Facility Manager

About the Role

The Facility Manager position at Al Udeid Air Base entails comprehensive oversight of the planning, operation, upkeep, and enhancement of the base's facilities and infrastructure. The role is critical in ensuring that all base structures adhere to operational, safety, and regulatory criteria while bolstering mission readiness for personnel and activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and organize daily facility operations including buildings, utilities, roadways, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain compliance of all facilities with safety regulations, environmental standards, and statutory requirements.
• Direct preventive maintenance schedules and manage corrective maintenance tasks.
• Administer contracts and liaise with contractors, vendors, and service teams for facility refurbishments, repairs, and inspections.
• Develop, control, and monitor budgets for operations, maintenance, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Lead and manage a team consisting of technicians, engineers, and supporting staff.
• Conduct routine facility inspections to assess maintenance needs and propose effective solutions.
• Promote and integrate energy conservation measures and sustainability programs across the base environment.
• Coordinate and manage emergency response protocols related to facility emergencies or hazards.
• Compile and present comprehensive reports and documentation to leadership regarding facility conditions, ongoing projects, and operational performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing facilities, preferably within military, governmental, or substantial operational settings.
• In-depth understanding of building systems, infrastructure, and maintenance methodologies.

Additional Conditions

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License is mandatory.
• Holding a valid U.S. Passport is preferred.
• Compliance with USCENTCOM Deployment Policy requirements, as per the latest directives.
• Eligibility to obtain and sustain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar.
• Capability to work under extreme environmental conditions including exposure to dust and high temperatures.
• Ability to endure prolonged hours, weather exposure, and hazardous situations.

Travel and Security

Extensive travel will be required, with 100% travel at the deployed location. The candidate must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
