Role Overview
Jefferies is hiring an Equity Research Associate focused on Financial Institutions Group (FIG) coverage in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves tracking market and industry developments, building financial models, supporting investment views, and contributing to high-quality equity research output.
Key Responsibilities
- Track sector and market developments closely, identify events that may affect covered stocks, and assess their likely impact.
- Carry out in-depth company analysis and valuation across different sub-sectors using DCF, relative valuation, and precedent transaction approaches.
- Build, update, and maintain financial models to project earnings and broader financial performance.
- Work with the Lead Analyst to sharpen the investment thesis, recommendations, and final research reports.
- Join company calls and meetings with management teams and industry specialists to gather detailed market and business insights.
- Assist in answering client questions on research findings, company performance, and market updates.
Qualifications and Background
- Applicants should have 2 to 3 years of experience in equity research; there is no specific sector or country background requirement.
- Strong analytical ability is essential, along with solid command over financial modelling and Excel.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are needed to create sharp, well-structured research reports.
- Working knowledge of tools and databases such as Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet, and IQVIA is a strong plus.
- An MBA from a reputed institute or a CA qualification with strong academic performance is required.
