About the Team

Shopsy is a Flipkart-owned shopping app designed as a zero-commission marketplace. It allows customers to buy affordable products and also enables users to begin a micro-business online without any upfront capital.

Role Overview

This position calls for a leader who can guide a mixed team toward Flipkart’s broader goals. The role is centered on building strong-performing teams, helping each member understand the value of their contributions, and creating a motivating long-term vision. The team works across products and platforms that support Flipkart’s ecosystem, with technical leadership focused on choosing the right abstractions and capabilities for both current and future needs. The role also requires driving delivery through Agile practices while clearing blockers and keeping the larger business context in view.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery for major initiatives and manage a full-stack engineering team of 8 to 12 skilled engineers.
• Define and execute the team vision, technology direction, and business objectives.
• Build structured career growth paths and support team members through coaching and mentoring.
• Review performance consistently and maintain a healthy feedback loop.
• Deliver effectively in a fast-changing, high-speed environment where priorities may shift.
• Establish development standards and ensure they are followed across the team.
• Design solutions that are technically sound, adaptable, and able to scale reliably.
• Collaborate with designers, business analysts, and product managers to estimate and plan work within an Agile setup.
• Partner with other teams to deliver strong outcomes even when boundaries and interfaces are not fully clear.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of total professional experience.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of architecture and technology in highly scalable and highly available systems.
• Hands-on experience with highly transactional systems, large relational databases, and complex software structures.
• Very strong object-oriented design capability, including the ability to create intuitive modules and class-level interfaces.
• Good project leadership skills, with experience managing multiple engineer projects and delivering quality outcomes on schedule.
• Strong individual technical track record with meaningful engineering achievements.

Additional Information

This role is based in the Greater Bengaluru Area and is a full-time onsite position.
