About the Role
Join us as an Employment Consultant in Burnie, Tasmania, where your efforts help transform lives by creating meaningful employment opportunities for people facing barriers such as disability, injury, or long-term unemployment. This role blends hands-on people support with relationship development, sales, and administrative duties to drive impactful employment outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop strong connections with participants to fully understand their career goals and set them up for success.
- Coach individuals to improve employability skills, resume building, interview preparation, and job search techniques.
- Facilitate access to appropriate training and skill enhancement to increase participant competitiveness.
- Generate employment opportunities actively by marketing candidates and engaging employers through cold calls, visits, and direct engagement.
- Build and maintain a robust network of local employers to create sustainable job pathways and repeat business.
- Identify hidden job markets and develop new opportunities via proactive business development initiatives.
- Confidently advocate for candidates by highlighting their skills and the benefits of inclusive hiring to employers.
- Negotiate job trials, work experience placements, and wage subsidy arrangements to secure successful employment outcomes.
- Track participant progress, maintain program documentation, ensure compliance, and meet or exceed key performance indicators.
- Celebrate both individual milestones and collective successes to motivate participants and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Right to live and work in Australia.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and comprehensive vehicle insurance.
- MyGovID at Standard level.
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check.
- Availability for full-time work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
