Role Responsibilities

This role manages daily operations for one or more residency or fellowship training programs and plays a pivotal role in the education leadership team. Responsibilities include directing and supervising trainees in compliance with Medical Staff Graduate Medical Education (MSGME), accrediting bodies like the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and specialty boards to maintain program compliance.

Tasks are performed independently, requiring sound judgment while addressing program management challenges and communications. The coordinator oversees recruitment, orientation, graduation, and evaluation processes. They prepare and maintain accreditation documentation and communicate updates on both internal and external educational initiatives. Supporting ongoing quality assurance within programs is also a key focus.

Work Arrangement and Location

This position combines remote and on-site work; candidates must live within 100 miles of the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic campus.

Required Qualifications

An associate degree with at least two years’ experience in academic or healthcare settings is required; alternatively, a bachelor's degree meets the education prerequisite. Preference is given to those with prior Mayo Clinic experience in academic program management.

Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership, collaborative skills, and problem-solving abilities within healthcare environments. Proven organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and experience interpreting accreditation standards are necessary. Budget oversight and management capabilities are required along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Independent decision-making, sound judgment, and mastery of time management, including multitasking and prioritization, are essential. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who proactively improves processes and resolves challenges.

Proficiency with various computer applications—word processing, databases, scheduling software, and web-based platforms—is expected. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.

Certification by Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) or familiarity with its requirements is beneficial but not mandatory.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 80 hours per pay period. Occasional weekends may be required to fulfill departmental responsibilities.

Hourly wage ranges from $24.55 to $35.65. This position is benefit-eligible and classified as nonexempt.
