Dishwasher

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our team at Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar in Owensboro, KY. The role involves thorough cleaning of tableware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and order in the dish room, and supporting kitchen operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwashing machine by loading, running, and unloading it efficiently.
• Ensure the dish machine is clean and promptly report any mechanical or functional issues.
• Regularly check the dish machine's water temperature to guarantee sanitary wash cycles.
• Wash and organize tableware and kitchen utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dish room area.
• Keep sufficient supplies of clean tableware available for both kitchen and dining operations.
• Maintain a safe working environment around hot and sharp items.
• Conduct trash inspections every 15 minutes and dispose of dish room trash appropriately.
• Handle all tableware with care to avoid breakage or loss.
• Replenish dish detergents and cleaning materials as needed.
• Clean food preparation and production spaces as required.
• Assist in light food preparation and portioning tasks when necessary.
• Be ready to fill in other roles as directed by the restaurant manager or supervisors to support smooth restaurant operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• No prior restaurant experience is necessary.
• Mental and physical ability to work for long periods in hot, wet, humid, and noisy conditions.
• Capability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, and remain standing for up to five hours continuously.
• Physically able to safely lift up to 60 pounds multiple times per shift.
