About the Role

Worley is seeking a Business Development Director to join their New Zealand team, preferably based in Auckland, New Plymouth, or Wellington. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and forming a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, this position will lead the company's sales operations and drive growth across all business areas.

Within New Zealand, Worley operates from six locations serving clients in the energy, water, and industrial sectors by providing engineering and consulting services through various project stages from inception to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business growth strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and customer relations.
  • Identify and win bids with existing and prospective clients.
  • Leverage the company’s capabilities in engineering, project delivery, and construction to expand service sales.
  • Prefer candidates located in Auckland, New Plymouth, or Wellington, though location flexibility exists.

Candidate Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand's engineering and contracting markets in the energy, water, and industrial sectors.
  • Established customer contacts across both the North and South Islands.
  • Possession of a tertiary qualification.
  • Substantial experience in business development within a related industry, with familiarity in project delivery highly preferred.
  • Capability to engage effectively at executive (C-suite) levels.
  • Track record of successful involvement in bids and proposals.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Legal eligibility to live and work in New Zealand.
