About the Role
Singapore stands as Asia's premier hub for reinsurance and specialty insurance. This position is part of a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing Singapore's insurance ecosystem by crafting and implementing strategies that bolster its growth. Key focus areas include expanding the range of insurance participants and solutions to address emerging regional risks such as climate change and cyber threats; fostering the alternative risk transfer market through instruments like insurance-linked securities and government risk pools; nurturing talent within the insurance sector; and advancing Singapore's analytics and innovation capabilities to tackle large-scale and complex risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Track global insurance and reinsurance market trends, evaluate their impact on Singapore's competitiveness, and develop actionable strategies for market development.
- Lead collaborations and co-develop initiatives with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, regional governments, and multilateral institutions to identify growth opportunities and establish insurance capabilities and infrastructure in Singapore.
- Design legal and regulatory frameworks governing insurance activities and work to broaden the base of specialized service providers to strengthen the supporting ecosystem.
- Promote Singapore as a foremost insurance hub to global stakeholders and support MAS's engagement in international forums to elevate Singapore's influence on regional and global market trends.
Candidate Profile
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are essential, including the ability to operate effectively across development, regulatory, and commercial spheres, and engage diverse parties such as government bodies, industry participants, and multilateral organizations.
- A proactive and motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Open to fresh graduates as well as experienced professionals from the insurance sector or public service.
