Role Summary
The Deal Desk Manager will play a critical role within the North American Go-to-Market team by delivering expert financial analysis and governance to structure complex commercial agreements. This position is suited for someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration and is passionate about building financial models that balance customer satisfaction and corporate margin objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate deal economics involving pricing, discount strategies, contract durations, volume commitments, and their effects on gross margin.
- Collaborate closely with Sales to craft commercially viable deals by weighing trade-offs among price, volume, and associated risks, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies.
- Develop, maintain, and scrutinize financial models and scenarios to support approval of non-standard deal requests by senior leadership.
- Manage the complete Deal Desk workflow in Salesforce/CPQ from quoting and pricing approvals through order form creation, DocuSign execution, and deal closure, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Build strong partnerships with Legal, Billing Operations, Corporate Finance, and Sales to increase deal processing efficiency, especially during peak business periods.
- Serve as a financial and policy advisor for Sales and GTM teams, promoting adherence to contracting guidelines, approval frameworks, and discount policies.
- Work with Sales and Legal teams to review and negotiate non-standard contract terms within Order Forms, maintaining compliance with risk and revenue recognition standards.
- Identify recurring deal trends, exceptions in approvals, and operational challenges to proactively recommend improvements in Deal Desk processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree plus five or more years in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, or analytical Deal Desk roles; or seven years of relevant experience without degree.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with a clear understanding of financial concepts and ability to communicate trade-offs effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with demonstrable skills in financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple fast-paced requests under tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrating high integrity aligned with company values.
- Familiarity with sales and document management platforms such as Salesforce, Tableau, CLM, and JIRA is a plus.
