Role Overview

The role of Data Strategy Consultant is a senior advisory position within Fusion's Data Office. You will guide clients from pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology sectors in leveraging data, AI, and technology as strategic assets. This position combines strategic leadership with practical involvement, leading client engagements from initial workshops through to final strategic recommendations, while staying connected with the technical teams to challenge and guide implementation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and convey data, AI, and technology strategies aligned with clients' business goals.
• Facilitate client workshops, steering committees, and executive meetings from planning through follow-up.
• Create business cases for data and AI investments linked to measurable outcomes.
• Design sustainable governance frameworks for data and AI that clients can effectively operate.
• Advise on technology platform selections without overseeing technical builds directly.
• Convert intricate technical subjects into actionable insights for leadership, using clear visual storytelling.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and harmonize conflicting interests across various functions.
• Coach both client teams and Fusion colleagues in structured problem-solving and strategic communications.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to distill complex ambiguous challenges into clear perspectives under time constraints.
• Experienced in leading senior stakeholder sessions and driving consensus in workshops.
• Proficient in crafting business cases scrutinized by finance and technology leaders.
• Capable of delivering polished, executive-level presentations that persuasively support an argument.
• Comfortable engaging with data architects and AI engineers at a conceptual level without direct technical execution.
• Strong client relationship management skills with the confidence to challenge and provide constructive feedback.
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields; MBA is advantageous.
• 6 to 10+ years professional experience including at least 3 years at top-tier consulting firms.
• Documented experience leading client workshops and delivering client-ready outputs independently.
• Robust understanding of data, AI, or technology strategies including governance principles.
• Experience in life sciences or regulated industries is a plus but not mandatory.
• Fluency in both German and English is required.
