Role Overview

We are looking for a leader to steer the future of Ramp's analytics capabilities. This role is critical in enhancing Ramp’s performance by one percent each day through the creation of advanced data products and actionable insights. Collaboration with business units, as well as product, engineering, and design teams, will be key to prioritize and execute projects, improve reporting mechanisms, and foster operational and result-oriented improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack solutions including models that process, transform, and expose data for both internal stakeholders and production environments.
• Champion a culture of experimental design, rigorous testing, and adherence to best practices.
• Influence and enhance analytics team processes, tools, and methodologies to support scalable, informed decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with product, engineering, data, and design teams to set product roadmaps and define success criteria.
• Partner closely with data engineering to manage data capture, storage, transformation, and generate actionable insights leading to business impact.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience in a data scientist role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience writing optimized queries on platforms such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experience utilizing BI tools like Looker, Omni, Sigma, Hex, or others for insight distribution through reports and dashboards.
• Demonstrated success in launching high-quality products and features at scale.
• Ability to excel in a dynamic startup environment focused on iterative problem-solving through technical innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or Hightouch.
• Deep understanding of analytics engineering workflows including data modeling, version control, documentation, testing, and maintaining best practices in codebase development.
• Experience within payments and fintech industries.
• Knowledge of B2B enterprise sales metrics and processes.

Team Insights

• Product Data: Develop data products and insights influencing product strategy and business outcomes; responsible for launching, instrumenting, testing, and quality assuring new products while closely partnering with engineering, product, and design.
• Risk & Capital Markets Data: Manage risk evaluation, infrastructure to handle millions of U.S. businesses, encompassing risk operations, underwriting, limit setting, pricing, fraud detection, regulatory reporting, and capital market relationships.
• Growth Data: Enable scalable acquisition and expansion of business partnerships through data products and insights focused on areas including web marketing, outbound automation, customer data platforms, self-service products, GTM finance strategies, and business systems.
