Role Overview

We invite passionate professionals to advance their careers at Jabil as a Data Scientist. Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, ML Ops, R&D, and business units—this role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to build AI/ML models that enhance product development and operational efficiency. As a member of the AI/ML team, you will develop bespoke data models and algorithms, coordinate with various departments for AI/ML implementation, and oversee outcome monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or collaborate on AI/ML projects from planning through execution to boost manufacturing efficiency.
• Perform data analyses and collaborate on designing dashboards utilizing generative AI tools.
• Partner with engineering and data science teams to facilitate model training, fine-tuning, and deployment, ensuring integration, monitoring, and optimization of machine learning and generative AI systems.
• Detect and study patterns via machine learning or generative AI during model training, applying these insights to inference processes.
• Educate organizational members across IT and business units on emerging technologies such as Generative AI, machine learning, and AI-based computer vision.

Qualifications & Skills

• Expertise in Python or R programming; familiarity with cloud development is advantageous.
• Strong foundation in statistics.
• Knowledge of regression models (e.g., XGBoost, LightGBM), classification models (e.g., logistic regression, SVM), and clustering techniques.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing and Generative AI models.
• Data sensitivity skills are favorable.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to collaborate effectively under pressure; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Innovative mindset with creative problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Passion for learning new technologies and algorithms beyond current expertise to address business challenges.

Educational Background & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Preferred minimum of 6 years' experience in data mining or machine learning.
• At least 3 years' experience working with Generative AI technologies.
• Experience with AI computer vision for at least 1 year is an advantage.
