Role overview
We are hiring a Data Engineer for roles based in Hyderabad and Chennai. This position requires someone who can build and support large-scale data platforms using the Hadoop ecosystem, with strong hands-on skills in data processing, automation, and distributed systems.
What you'll do
- Create, build, and release scalable big data solutions on Hadoop-based technologies.
- Develop and improve data pipelines and workflows that handle high-volume analytics workloads.
- Write automation and application code using Python or Scala.
- Work with ingestion and transformation tools such as HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie, and Kafka.
- Keep Hadoop clusters running efficiently by monitoring, maintaining, and tuning them for stability and scale.
- Investigate issues in big data infrastructure and support systems with strong availability requirements.
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to deliver data-focused outcomes.
- Help ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across distributed environments.
- Review code and guide junior teammates with technical support where needed.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and release activities.
- Document technical processes, recommended practices, and operational guidelines.
Skills and technical requirements
- Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem and big data tooling.
- Working knowledge of HDFS, Hive, and MapReduce.
- Understanding of Sqoop, Oozie, and Kafka.
- Ability to code in Python or Scala.
- Familiarity with ETL and data processing frameworks.
- Understanding of distributed computing concepts.
- Ability to administer and tune Hadoop clusters.
- Awareness of data governance and security practices.

Notice period required for this role is 30 days, although immediate joiners can also be considered.
