Job description
Role Overview
The Data Engineer will be accountable for the operation and upkeep of the overseas division of the company’s data warehouses, which include mobile device, IoT, and app data stores. This position demands a thorough grasp of Xiaomi's business operations to effectively abstract and structure business processes, design an appropriate big data architecture suited to diverse and complex business needs, and promote continuous enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of the group’s overseas data warehouses covering various domains such as mobile devices, IoT, and applications.
- Develop clear abstractions and models for business processes informed by deep insight into Xiaomi’s business.
- Design and iterate a big data architecture that aligns with complex business scenarios of the company.
- Expand and maintain the data warehouse infrastructure, as well as support its testing to facilitate data-driven decision-making for overseas operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant fields, with 2 to 5 years of related practical experience.
- Familiarity with big data system architectures, including Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Doris, Kudu, and Iceberg.
- Strong programming skills complemented by solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
- Effective communication abilities, with proven teamwork and coordination skills; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is advantageous but not mandatory.
