Uber Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Data Analyst I, Tech in San Francisco, California for a full-time role. This position focuses on analytics and reporting for autonomous vehicle customer support, with an option to telecommute.
Compensation and benefits
The annual pay range for this position is $113,000 to $138,000. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for Uber's bonus program and other forms of compensation. The role also comes with access to a range of benefits.
What you'll do
You will work across Customer Support, Engineering, and Product to understand analytics needs and reporting priorities tied to autonomous vehicle customer support. The role includes assessing current coverage and gaps in analytics, data availability, and reporting processes, then identifying improvements.
- Define business needs, data needs, metric rules, and reporting specs for dashboards, reports, and analytics products.
- Convert business goals into data solution requirements, including the structures, context, and intended use of data for customer support quality measurement.
- Create source-to-target mappings to guide new data models and data pipelines.
- Help shape scalable analytics solutions by keeping the business intent aligned with technical delivery.
- Take part in user acceptance testing and data validation to confirm that new data products satisfy functional and quality standards.
- Keep documentation current for sources, metric definitions, reporting logic, and data lineage.
- Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders on goals, priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
- Support ongoing improvements to analytics infrastructure, data workflows, and reporting for autonomous vehicle customer support.
- May telecommute.
Experience and qualification requirements
Uber will consider candidates with a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline, along with 2 years of experience in the job or a related role.
- Experience translating complex workflows across autonomous vehicle, ride-sharing, and delivery support environments into clear analytics and reporting needs.
- Experience with end-to-end discovery, process mapping, and source-to-target data mapping across multiple systems for scalable and auditable data models and analytics pipelines.
- Ability to use SQL to query, reconcile, and validate large structured and semi-structured datasets, including resolving data quality issues in production analytics settings.
- Experience performing repeatable analysis with Python or R to build reusable analytical approaches.
- Experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B tests, simulations, or causal analyses for customer support operations.
- Working knowledge of autonomous vehicle technology and customer support operations in transportation, ride-sharing, or food and grocery delivery, including service quality and operational efficiency.
- Experience building and maintaining self-service dashboards and analytics in Tableau or Looker.
- Ability to validate, monitor, and troubleshoot analytics outputs by tracing issues through source data, transformations, and reporting layers.
