The Contracts Manager will oversee all commercial and contractual activities related to a sizable multi-package project focused on cliff stabilization in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia. This role demands extensive knowledge of legal, business, financial, and long-term impacts tied to prime contract negotiation and management. Occasional travel to client offices or project sites prior to or during contract implementation may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations on significant contracts and modifications, often within challenging conditions, aiming to secure terms favorable to the company.
- Identify contractual risks and ensure contract terms comply with company policies.
- Contribute to divisional, corporate, and company-wide strategic planning processes, including risk assessments and business plan evaluations.
- Recruit and assign staff, oversee their work to maintain consistent quality, and provide necessary training and professional development.
- Maintain active involvement in relevant professional organizations to stay updated on current contractual developments.
- Keep the team informed about resource materials concerning contract administration and negotiation.
- Perform additional duties pertinent to the contract management function as required.
Collaborations and Reporting
- Receives supervision from the Project Director, Department Manager--Contracts, and senior management within the Global Business Unit.
- Provides leadership and guidance to junior contract managers and contract administrators.
- Interacts internally across all company departments and externally with client contract administrators, suppliers, and government entities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field is mandatory.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in prime contract administration, preferably within a major international engineering and construction company.
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) is favored.
Skills and Competencies
- Thorough understanding of industry business practices and prime contract negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in PC software relevant to contract administration.
- Demonstrated capability to manage complex contractual negotiations independently.
