Role Overview
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team in Leeds. This role supports the creation, rollout, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring alignment with international standards and company policies.
The successful candidate will maintain certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 45001 and ISO/IEC 20000, while aiding the development and adoption of new management systems and certification schemes. Collaboration with business stakeholders is vital to developing system documentation, coordinating audits, identifying improvements, and embedding a culture of compliance, quality, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and continually enhance the organization's Management Systems to support growth and operational efficiency aligned with recognized standards.
- Manage implementation, upkeep, surveillance, and recertification of multiple ISO standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000.
- Translate ISO, regulatory, and business requirements into actionable governance frameworks, processes, controls, and documentation.
- Oversee internal and external audits, management reviews, and related assurance activities.
- Lead risk management, identify opportunities, manage non-conformities, corrective actions, and foster continual improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate across teams to embed compliance comprehensively and ensure understanding and application of management system standards.
- Develop compliance reporting, key performance indicators, and management information for senior leadership.
- Stay informed on legislative, regulatory, and standards changes, evaluating their impact to maintain organizational compliance.
- Promote an organizational culture emphasizing quality, assurance, and ongoing improvement.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least three years in roles pertaining to Compliance, Quality, Governance, or Management Systems.
- Experience in designing, deploying, and refining Integrated Management Systems.
- Handling multiple ISO certifications including audit coordination and recertification processes.
- Practical familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 20000 standards.
- Supporting or facilitating audits, corrective actions, non-conformity management, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to interpret standards and implement them as practical controls and business processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities; adept at multitasking independently.
Desirable Experience
- Background in administrative, compliance, quality, governance, IT service, health and safety or information security support roles.
- Experience working with integrated management systems and multiple ISO standards.
- Familiarity with audit preparations, document control, risk registers, and continuous improvement tracking.
- Use of SharePoint, document management platforms, compliance software, or ticketing systems.
- Experience within regulated industries and in delivering training or workshops.
- An interest in growing a career in compliance, quality assurance, governance, risk, information security or service management.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Essential: ISO awareness training or Internal Auditor qualification in at least one relevant standard (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000).
- Sound knowledge of management systems, audits, document control, and corrective action management processes.
- Desirable: Additional Internal Auditor qualifications or certifications in Compliance, Quality, Health and Safety, Information Security or Service Management.
