Role Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks an accomplished Senior Strategic Communications Manager to support the Asia-Pacific, Japan, and China (APJC) Executive and Internal Communications team. This critical position supports a dynamic region with a builder community exceeding 14,000 members, playing a pivotal role in shaping leadership communication and regional visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative communication strategies that effectively highlight APJC's achievements, influencing perceptions, investment decisions, and elevating the region's global profile within AWS audiences.
• Create governance frameworks balancing centralized excellence and local flexibility across APJC, establishing criteria for executive communications, approval workflows, and measurement for consistent messaging.
• Introduce creative storytelling methods, challenging existing formats, and utilize AI-powered content creation tools to expand impact while enabling strategic focus.
• Serve as a trusted strategic partner, preparing communication assets for leaders' global engagements and transforming executive visits into impactful content opportunities, collaborating closely with senior communication leadership.

Basic Qualifications

• Proven experience independently setting communication strategies and creating original strategic narratives beyond simply executing directives.
• Expertise managing communications during sensitive organizational shifts and leadership changes, working alongside HR and Legal teams.
• Capability to oversee executive speaking engagements, including prioritization, vetting, and content creation across formats like keynotes and all-hands meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience devising executive social media strategies, particularly LinkedIn, to achieve measurable leadership presence.
• Background in constructing communication governance frameworks suitable for complex, distributed organizations balancing central control and localized agility.
• Proficiency in leveraging generative AI technologies to enhance communication reach and optimize content development workflows.
