Role Overview

The Ned Doha is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Coffee Sommelier to enhance our coffee offerings to the highest standards. This role demands passion for specialty coffee, ability to share expertise with guests, and a dedication to excellence in a luxury hospitality context.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and present outstanding coffee experiences tailored to guest preferences.
• Possess comprehensive expertise in coffee origins, various roasting processes, brewing methods, and sensory flavor profiles.
• Advise guests on coffee choices and suitable pairings to enrich their experience.
• Maintain top-tier standards in coffee preparation, presentation, and service.
• Contribute to the creation and evolution of coffee menus and seasonal specialties.
• Train and motivate team members on coffee knowledge, brewing techniques, and service excellence.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency across all coffee offerings.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends, innovations, and unique coffee experiences within the industry.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Previous experience as a Coffee Sommelier, Head Barista, Coffee Specialist, or a similar role focused on specialty coffee.
• Extensive understanding of specialty coffee, including brewing methods, sourcing, and sensory analysis.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Strong communication and engaging storytelling abilities.
• A proactive, optimistic, and collaborative work mindset.
• Preferably experienced in luxury hospitality, fine dining, or premium café environments.
• Professional credentials in coffee are an added advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

• Attractive tax-free annual salary between QAR 72,000 and 96,000.
