CNC Machinist (DMG, Mazak, Integrex)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision machined parts. The role requires maintaining high-quality output, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring the proper upkeep of company equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures established by the company.
• Machine and fabricate threaded connections and components accurately according to provided drawings and CNC programs.
• Inspect all finished parts and threads to confirm they meet detailed specifications.
• Comply with guidelines issued by the Superintendent and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Care for and responsibly use company machinery and tools, ensuring their protection and operational readiness.
• Accurately verify parts and work orders as part of daily duties and perform additional tasks as directed by supervision.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Ability to monitor and identify malfunctions in operating machinery through auditory and operational cues, making necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
• Analyze first article parts, engineering drawings, and data to develop machining sequences and determine dimensional tolerances.
• Strong mathematical aptitude to interpret complex instructions, blueprints, and schematics ensuring product accuracy.
• Effective problem-solving to address machine inefficiencies, improve productivity, and resolve errors.
• Attention to detail critical for working with exacting tolerances, where slight deviations can be significant.
• Technical understanding of CAD/CAM systems related to CNC machinery operation.
• Physical stamina for long hours of repetitive manual activity.
• Competencies in process improvement, verbal communication, tooling expertise, coordination, judgment, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Industrial/Manufacturing or vocational mechanical engineering training post-high school.
• A minimum of 2 years practical experience in Turner, Machinist, or Fitter roles.
• Familiarity and experience with specific CNC machines including DMG Beta & Gamma, Mazak (ST450, STN500/550M), ROMI (M33, M43), and Doosan (Puma700LM, DBC130L).
• Background in manufacturing for the oil and gas sector.

Additional Knowledge

• Competence in operating CNC machines focused on Rotary Shoulder Connections such as API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, Vam, as well as Heavy Weight Drill Pipe components including drill collars and drill stem parts.
