Your Role
The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with the Head of Growth and DAU to craft and maintain a strategically aligned sales pipeline. This position focuses on building and sustaining key strategic relationships with senior executives and decision-makers within New Zealand’s corporate and commercial sectors, such as C-level, board members, and directors.
The role involves thorough needs assessments for potential and current clients while coordinating with the GM Growth Operations and GM Client Experience to position Aon as the preferred insurance partner. It also requires integrating Aon Connect tools into the growth strategy and ongoing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a business development strategy that supports Aon’s growth and client satisfaction goals, working collaboratively with senior leaders across the company.
- Conduct market research and analysis to uncover new client needs and identify new business opportunities.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships within the senior business community in New Zealand and the wider APAC region to stay informed of business prospects.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Aon's products, innovations, and thought leadership to effectively market to businesses and anticipate client objectives.
- Provide insights and intelligence on prospects to inform and shape the New Zealand growth strategy.
- Maintain a reliable prospect database in partnership with Aon Connect teams locally and globally.
- Collaborate with Bid Management and Client Experience teams to prepare client documents and presentations.
- Employ Aon's best sales enablement methodologies to guide prospects through an effective evaluation and delivery process.
- Serve as a key advocate for Aon Connect and DAU in executing the 3x3 strategy within the business.
- Utilize data and analytics to support pipeline development and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with client servicing teams to supply informative presentations and analyses for potential clients.
- Lead change management efforts to adopt new operating methods for prospect engagement in a growth-focused environment.
- Foster a health, safety, and wellbeing culture by managing workplace risks and incident reporting.
- Promote risk management practices to ensure regulatory compliance, excellent client outcomes, and adherence to financial advice and record-keeping standards.
- Communicate effectively across teams to align colleagues with the company's purpose, strategy, priorities, and performance feedback.
- Lead inclusive and engaging workforce initiatives that empower and value employees.
- Maintain talent development plans and succession pipelines based on forecasted client and organizational needs.
- Participate as a member of the general management leadership team, promoting collaboration and a unified “one team” perspective.
- Support the Delivering Aon United program, embodying the company’s values and collaborating with global and regional peers for company-wide advancement.
- Collaborate with executives to craft and execute Aon New Zealand’s strategy, operational plans, and manage budgets and resources.
- Act as an ambassador for the Aon brand, maintaining relationships with external stakeholders and upholding the company's reputation.
