Overview
The Business Analyst Intern at US Tiger Securities, Inc. will actively contribute to transforming business requirements into effective operational and product improvements within the brokerage and fintech domains. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in financial services by engaging in data analysis, process documentation, and stakeholder collaboration to support well-informed decision-making.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate across operations, product, and technology teams to gather, document, and analyze business and functional requirements.
- Create clear documentation artifacts such as process flows, user stories, and functional specifications based on business needs.
- Examine workflows and datasets to uncover inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for enhancement.
- Collect, cleanse, and analyze data to underpin business strategies and evaluate process effectiveness.
- Develop reports and visual data presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical groups.
- Conduct competitive and market research to benchmark the firm's processes and offerings against industry practices.
- Support project coordination by monitoring delivery milestones, documenting meeting outcomes, and ensuring completion of action items.
- Assist in quality assurance testing of new system features and process modifications by identifying issues and confirming resolutions.
- Partner with multiple departments to facilitate product launches, process implementations, and operational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in or completion of a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar disciplines; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Strong analytical thinking and quantitative problem-solving capabilities with an aptitude for interpreting data to make substantiated conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data manipulation and report creation.
- Effective communication skills for conveying complex analytical insights to diverse audiences clearly and concisely.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks with proficient time management.
Preferred Skills
- An enthusiasm for financial markets, fintech innovations, and brokerage industry operations.
- Experience or familiarity with SQL, Python, or VBA for data analysis and automation purposes.
- Knowledge of business analysis instruments, process mapping methods, or data visualization tools.
- Mandarin Chinese language proficiency is advantageous due to potential interactions with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and relevant documentation.
Additional Details
- This position is a 3-month internship requiring 40 hours of work per week, strictly onsite in New York City, five days per week.
- The monthly stipend for this role is $3,500.
